Read the connections, then use the label.
Cosmic Oceans calculates the planetary activations at birth and at the Design point roughly three months earlier. Complete channels define centers; the resulting Definition determines Type.

Type is derived from Definition in the bodygraph: which centers are defined and how complete channels connect them. The chart is calculated from birth date, exact local birth time, and birthplace.
What is the difference between Type, Strategy, and Authority?
Type describes the body's broad mechanical organization and aura. Strategy describes how that Type is designed to meet life. Authority describes the inner process used to decide whether a particular opportunity is correct.
Can my Human Design Type change?
No. Natal Type remains anchored to birth data. Your experience of the chart can change through conditioning, relationships, environment, transits, and experimentation, but the underlying Type calculation does not.
