How this chart was calculated

Verified math. Palace, Five-Element Class and all fourteen major star placements were cross-checked against an independent implementation of the classical rules across 4,896 charts spanning 1930–2030, with zero disagreements.

Sundial time. Zi Wei Dou Shu was built on solar time, not clock time. Your birthplace's longitude and the equation of time are applied to your clock reading before the hour branch is chosen, using the full historical timezone database — so wartime clocks and daylight saving are handled. Each Chinese hour spans two hours, so this correction moves a great many people into the neighbouring hour and changes the whole plate.

Where schools legitimately differ. Births between 23:00 and 23:59 belong to today in one tradition and tomorrow in another; the choice changes the chart in roughly nine cases out of ten, so it is exposed as a switch rather than decided for you. Leap months are split at the fifteenth by default, which is the more common convention. Star brightness and the Four Transformations follow the mainstream San He table.
